Biographical statement
My research focuses on the immune mechanisms of viral persistence and liver disease pathogenesis in human hepatitis B and C, with and without HIV coinfection--using high-dimensional single cell immune analyses via flow and mass cytometry, as well as novel image mass cytometry approach. We are also exploring the genetic basis of cardiometabolic diseases (including liver disease, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases) using the rich genetic and electronic health record data in the VA's Million Veteran Program (MVP) with over 750,000 U.S. Veterans enrolled.
