Director Position – Center for Regenerative Medicine: University of Illinois College of Medicine

The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago invites individuals to apply for a Director position of the Center for Regenerative Medicine.  The position will be appointed cross multiple departments with primary home department be the Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine. The candidate is expected to foster the growth of the Center faculty recruitment, working in thematic area with the intent of competing successfully for programmatic or center funding from NIH.   There are multiple opportunities for collaboration with existing faculty working on this general thematic area in multiple departments.  A major component of the position with also be to coalesce these investigators into a vital inter-departmental program and provide an organizational structure for the Center.   Candidates should have current NIH funding and a sustained record of funding, leadership and entrepreneurial skills, ability to bring individuals together and strong research record in one or more of these areas: 1) biology of stem cells 2) signaling mechanisms of differentiation and self-renewal; 3) genome editing; 4) reprogramming ;5) lineage tracing: or other relevant areas.  The Director will report to the Dean of the College of Medicine and based on the primary academic appointment to the head of Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine.
