Camille E. Powe M.D. is an Associate Professor of both Medicine and Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. She received her M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency and chief residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She trained in Endocrinology at the Massachusetts General Hospital where she subsequently joined the faculty.
Dr. Powe’s research mission is to bring innovations in understanding of diabetes pathophysiology, application of diabetes technology, and development of diabetes therapeutics to pregnant and postpartum individuals. Her clinical and translational research program applies advances in physiologic and genetic profiling, as well as diabetes technologies, to the study of hyperglycemia in pregnancy. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
Dr. Powe is recognized nationally and internationally for her expertise in diabetes in pregnancy. She has served as the Chair of the Pregnancy and Reproductive Health Professional Interest Group for the American Diabetes Association, as an Associate Editor and Editorial Board member for Diabetes Care and Diabetes, as an invited Editorialist in JAMA, and as a member of the International Association of the Diabetes in Pregnancy Study Groups’ Council. Dr. Powe is a founder of the Massachusetts General Hospital Diabetes in Pregnancy Program which provides care for complex and rare cases of diabetes in pregnancy.
