Alexi A. Wright, MD MPH, is the Director of Gynecologic Oncology Outcomes Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, her Medical Degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and her Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Wright’s program of research focuses on evaluating the quality and effectiveness of cancer care and using that knowledge to inform the development, testing and implementation of intervention strategies to improve cancer care. This includes harnessing data from cancer registries, administrative claims, and population-based and multi-center cohort studies to understand the factors that influence the quality and intensity of care that patients with advanced cancer receive during treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care. Another major focus of Dr. Wright’s research is developing and disseminating scalable interventions to improve symptom management, quality of life, and outcomes for patients with advanced cancer and their family caregivers.

Dr. Wright has received funding from the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Nursing Research, the National Palliative Care Research Center, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute, and American Cancer Society. She has received multiple awards, including the George P. Canellos Award for Excellence in Clinical Investigation and Patient Care and the A. Clifford Barger Excellence in Mentoring Award.
