Elected 2024

I am an NIH-funded physician-scientist focused on ELSI (ethical, legal and social implications of genetic medicine) and the clinical implementation of genetic medicine who founded a novel nationwide Telegenetics Program, serving as a model for telehealth services and genetic delivery research.  I have led multiple multi-center randomized genetic delivery and behavioral and communication intervention trials (R01 CA160847:Bradbury, R01 CA190871:Bradbury, R21 CA164121:Bradbury, R01 CA237369:Henderson/Bradbury), which have informed best practices for use remote telehealth services in clinical genetics to improve access to genetic services. In 2012, I founded the Penn Telegenetics Program, a national leader in telehealth services and research for genetic medicine. While this work began with a focus on  cancer, we now provide remote telehealth services across the United States and multiple areas of genetic medicine (neurology, cardiology and medical genetics) through clinical contracts, national cohorts, national clinical trials and NIH grants. Additionally, my ELSI research focuses on communication and genetic testing in adolescents (R01 CA138819: Daly/Bradbury) and return of genetic research results (ASCO Advanced Clinical Research Award, 2R01 CA190871:Bradbury). My current research in novel delivery models is focused on nationally recruiting randomized trials evaluating telehealth and digital interventions (self-directed eHealth interventions and chatbots) in real-world and representative patient populations in both community and low access settings (Astrazeneca ESR-19-20239/Basser Center for BRCA1/2:Bradbury, U01 CA243702:Bradbury). As a nationally recognized ELSI  and health care delivery researcher, I have collaborated with others to evaluate the ethics of learning health care systems (R01 CA201356: Jagsi) and I routinely participate in ELSI and NCI special emphasis study sections related to return of genetic research results, genetic services and telehealth research.
