The overarching theme in the Wald lab is the development of novel therapeutic strategies for cancer and the translational of these efforts into the clinic. One focus involves the identification and development of therapeutic approaches for Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In particular, strategies are focused on developing differentiation therapies that offer the potential of reduced toxicities as compared to standard chemotherapy. Another major focus involves the development of cellular therapies including NK and T cell therapies for both hematopoietic malignancies and solid tumors. Our efforts are particularly centered on the identification of strategies to improve the in vivo activity and persistence of these cellular therapies.
