Dr Gerber is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Attending Physician within the Division Infectious Diseases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).He is Associate Chief clinical Research Officer of the CHOP Research Institute; Associate Director of the CHOP Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness; and Senior Scholar within the Penn Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His research focuses on observational studies to determine the epidemiology and outcomes associated with antimicrobial use in children as well as antimicrobial stewardship interventions designed to improve antimicrobial use based on established guidelines in both inpatient and outpatient settings.He has mentored several trainees and junior faculty members in antimicrobial stewardship research. His work has been supported by federal grants from NIH, CDC, AHRQ, and PCORI.
