Dr. Jianwen Que is a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University. His research is focused on stem/progenitor cells in the development, maintenance and disease of the lung and esophagus. Current active areas of study include: 1) determining the disease mechanisms leading to abnormal formation of the lung and esophagus; 2) investigating how stem/progenitor cells are mobilized to regenerate injured lung and esophagus; 3) defining stem cell abnormalities in diseases like fibrosis and cancer.
