About the awardee

After completing a National Institutes of Health Post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) fellowship, Dr. Christine Bojanowski received her medical school training at George Washington University School of Medicine. She then completed a dual residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, followed by Adult Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) where she was appointed to the institution’s T-32 research training grant.  She is a current Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine and scholar of the Tulane University School of Medicine’s Dean’s Faculty Physician Scientist Pipeline Program. From 2019-2021, Dr. Bojanowski was an appointed Louisiana Clinical and Translational Sciences (LA CaTS) Roadmap Scholar during which time she also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR). As a director of a CysticFibrosis Foundation (CFF) Adult Care Program, and as one of two international Gilead Sciences Research Scholars Program in Cystic Fibrosis recipients for 2021-2023, Dr. Bojanowski is dedicated to promoting and advancing our understanding of the pathology and clinical treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF) through scientific research. Her goal is to become an independent translational investigator committed to understanding the mechanisms underlying aberrant host responses to chronic infections with a focus on the complexities of CF immunity within the upper airway.
