Dr. Kundu is an Associate Member at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University and her MD and PhD degrees from Jefferson Medical College as part of the 6-year accelerated BS/MD and Gibbon Scholar MD/PhD programs. Dr. Kundu was a post-doctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health, prior to completing clinical training in Clinical Pathology/Hematopathology and additional research training at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kundu has received several prestigious awards, including the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Fellowship Award, American Society of Bone and Mineral Research Young Investigator Award, Burroughs Wellcome Career Award in Biomedical Sciences, and American Society of Hematology Fellow and Junior Faculty Scholar Awards. Her research is focused on elucidating the role of the autophagy-inducing kinases, ULK1 and ULK2, in coordinating the cellular response to metabolic stress.
