Dr. Sadek obtained his medical degree from Ain Sham University in Egypt, and his PhD from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed clinical training in Internal Medicine and cardiology at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, and a post doctoral-fellowship in stem cell biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Sadek is currently a Professor of Internal Medicine/Cardiology, Biophysics and Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is a practicing cardiologist with board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Echocardiography. Dr. Sadek’s research focuses on mammalian heart regeneration, and link between metabolism and cell cycle regulation.
