I am a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma as well as a Ph.D. in genetics. My research is focused on detecting genes that cause glaucoma and investigating the mechanism by which mutations in these genes cause disease. My laboratory utilizes family-based linkage studies, population-based association studies, next-generation DNA sequencing techniques, and transgenic animal models to research the causes and cures of glaucoma.
