Dr. Stanger is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His laboratory seeks to understand molecular and cellular pathogenesis of disorders of the digestive tract: liver disease, diabetes, and pancreatic cancer. Active areas of study include: 1) exploring the extent to which cellular plasticity plays a role in liver regeneration; 2) understanding how tumor cells mold their microenvironment; and 3) defining the molecular mechanisms of cancer cell invasion and metastasis.
